Police Officer Full Time

The Town of Rye New Hampshire is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. The applicant must be certified as a full-time police officer or have received a passing score on a test administered by Great Bay Community College Police Testing Alliance within the last six months. Job Summary

Performs responsible and visible law enforcement duties including patrol, investigation, traffic control, and a variety of other duties to preserve the peace and protect life and property in the Town.  Enforces Federal and State laws, local ordinances and by-laws.

Minimum Qualifications Required

High school graduate or equivalent (Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement and/or previous law enforcement experience preferred); certification by New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council as a full-time Police Officer; possession of a valid driver’s license; demonstrated computer, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet the physical fitness entrance requirements of the New Hampshire Police Standards & Training Council; ability to pass criminal and financial background checks prior to employment; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
