Wallis Road Fatal Crash Press Release

On January 27, 2019 at approximately 6:30 PM, the Rye Police and Fire Department were dispatched to the area of 472 Wallis Road for a serious motor vehicle crash.  When officers arrived on scene, they located a 2012 Ford Focus on its side. Rye Fire Department personnel immediately rendered emergency care, however, the driver succumbed to her injuries.  The driver was identified as Joslin Phaneuf, 50 years of age.

 

The crash caused significant damage to a telephone pole, which compromised the integrity of the power lines.  After initial rescue operations were complete, the crash scene was secured and closed for several hours while Eversource Power Company made necessary repairs.

 

Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling west on Wallis Road before the crash.  The crash is still under investigation by the Rye Police, New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office, and Rockingham County Attorney Office.
