Positive COVID-19 Case at Rye Recycling Center

The Town of Rye was informed on September 27, 2020 a person who tested positive for COVID-19 and was at the Rye Recycle Center. NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) conducts a contact investigation for each positive case of COVID-19 in the state. NH DHHS has conducted a contact investigation, has identified individuals who potentially had close contact with the individual with a confirmed COVID-19. DHHS is contacting all close contacts to advise them to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms.

The Town of Rye is notifying the community out of an abundance of caution. No public exposure has been identified.

The health and safety of the public and all town employees remains the Town’s number one priority. The Town of Rye continues to follow NH Department of Health and Human Services and Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Town officials are working with the Town of Rye health officer, NH DHHS, and New Hampshire Homeland Security and Emergency Management to review health protocols and ensure the proper sharing of information with the public and all Town of Rye employees.

The Town of Rye Highway Department is cleaning and sanitizing all equipment and buildings at the Rye Highway complex, including the Recycle Center. Currently, the business of the Town of Rye is remaining at normal operation and employees continue to follow the guidelines that are in place to keep the public and town employees healthy and safe.
